  The gifted author and translator of the monograph Magdalena Majewska Last evening (September 18th 2025), at the Steinway Salon in Warsaw, I attended a charming book launch. This was of a superbly written 'little' monograph in English on Ignacy Jan Paderewski published by PWM ( Polskie Wydawnicwo Muzyczne ) written and translated from the original Polish by the author Magdalena Majewska. She had won a competition to write this well-researched and entertaining volume, signing herself  'The Wizard'. This referred to the musical critics  of the day who described P aderewski's playing as that of a 'keyboard wizard'. The judges were particularly taken by this stylish insight. The book is one of a series of 'little' monographs by PWM on Polish composers.
